What drew me to this line of work was not only my personal connection to recovery, but to help a demographic of people who are affected by substance abuse and mental health disorders who. These individuals often face a stigma that still exists today. I wanted to not only do what I could to help serve these individuals, but to also to bring awareness to loved ones and the surrounding communities.
I feel that I work well with whatever is placed in front of me. Being client-centered has helped me grow and adapt to the needs of my clients, their families, and my coworkers. Every situation is different, and I've learned to adjust to what a client, family member, or staff member needs from me in that moment while remaining supportive, flexible, and focused on providing the best care possible.
I would want them to know that I am a great listener. I believe people can often find their own answers or recognize what they need when they’re given a safe, supportive space to talk. I strive to create that kind of environment where people feel heard, respected, and comfortable being themselves.
"I enjoy many things outside of Arbor Place. For self-care, I enjoy long-distance running and biking. I also enjoy attending the occasional Minnesota Lynx game or Wisconsin volleyball game. I've found that I'm a very curious person. I love traveling to new places, but I also enjoy finding hidden gems within our own communities. Whether it's exploring a new town, trying a local restaurant, or finding a scenic trail, I enjoy experiences that allow me to keep learning and discovering something new."
