Seeing the impact that substance use and mental health have on individuals and families brought me to this work. A desire to do something to help people discover their worth and value themselves more drew me to this work and watching lives restored and people gain confidence and joy in their lives keeps me here.
I do my best work with individuals who need to feel heard and understood in order to strive for changes that will improve their lives. I especially enjoy working with caregivers and helping them to connect more with the children and family members they care for. Circle of Security Parenting is my favoriter curriculum to use with clients.
As a substance use disorder counselor, I strive to provide compassionate, empathetic care while building trusting and honest relationships with those I serve. I believe that every person has inherent worth and the capacity for positive change. By creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment, I encourage individuals to recognize their strengths, increase their self-worth, and discover the intrinsic motivation needed to achieve and sustain recovery. My goal is to empower clients to make meaningful, self-directed changes that support long-term health, resilience, and personal growth.
My hobbies include spending time with family outdoors, hiking, camping and sight-seeing. I especially enjoy thrifting and visiting greenhouses to find neat plants and flowers to grow. I have and Australian Shepherd Oscar who I love to cuddle with.
